STATUE OF LIBERTY The Statue of Liberty it’s situated on the Liberty Island, in New York, in the United States. It was a present from France in XIX century, for the celebration of the 100 years of the independence of the United States, and a sign of friendship between the two nations. It was inaugurated the 28th of October of 1886, when Grover Cleveland was the president of the USA. You can visit it and you can stay at the crown, where you can see incredible views of the city. It was done by the sculptor Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi and the french engineer Gustave-Eiffel, who designed the structure. Eiffel also made the Eiffel Tower, which bears this name in his honor. I t became a symbol of welcome for the European immigrants, who were searching liberty. The 15 th of October of 1924, the statue was declared a national monument of United States, and since 1984 is considered a World heritage by the UNESCO.
